Thomas Ottl and Thomas Vilgertshofer bring more than three decades of hands-on experience across the entire value chain – from demolition and the processing of mineral material streams to concrete production and new construction.
Thomas Ottl conceived GRAVELMIX. Thomas Vilgertshofer is his long-time companion, strategic sounding board, and indispensable business partner. Together, they developed GRAVELMIX to a market-ready, industrial-scale solution.

RESOURCE WASTE IN CONSTRUCTION IS IMPOSSIBLE TO IGNORE
In his day-to-day work, Thomas Ottl repeatedly watched high-quality concrete from demolition leave the site by truck – sometimes in volumes of 40,000 tons – sent for landfill.
“The amount of material, energy, and logistics involved was completely out of proportion. Why are we disposing high-quality mineral material instead of feeding it straight back into concrete production?”
For years, demolition material was treated as a low-grade input in many applications.
So Thomas Ottl started testing a different approach on his own gravelplant site pouring multiple slabs with recycled-concrete mixes to prove it in practice. That’s when the idea for GRAVELMIX was born.
